Lucy Penbrook

Oh, let’s make this snappy and sprinkle it with a bit of Gilmore charm, shall we? Picture this: a young girl  finds herself utterly enchanted by the world of words at the tender age of six. Not just any words, though—mysterious words wrapped in the adventures of Nancy Drew, which she devoured with the voracity of a Lorelai at Luke’s on free coffee day. Fast forward a few (cough, cough) decades, and here I am, still living in a world where the dialogue is quick, the mysteries are cozy, and the coffee is always on.

Now, my writing sessions are fueled by an unhealthy addiction to chips and queso—seriously, it’s a problem—and supervised by my furry feline friend who, honestly, could probably solve a mystery or two himself if he wasn't so preoccupied with his next nap. When the laptop closes, you can find me cheering on my favorite college football team—yelling at the refs like they can hear me through the TV—or spending quality time with my husband and son, because, let’s face it, they’re my real-life happy ending. They say life imitates art, and if my life were any more like my books, I’d be stumbling over a mystery at every turn—preferably one that leads directly to a plate of chips and queso.

Join me in the cozy town of Maplewood, where each book is a doorway to friendship, mystery, and the gentle reminder that sometimes, the most extraordinary things happen when you least expect them.

Let’s unravel the mystery together.
